Media Guardian 100
Media Guardian 100 is a guide to the most powerful people in the media industry and is an annual event, contenders are judged on three criterions which include culture, economic and political influence. The media Guardian 100 has been going on for the last seven years is the list produced consists of different media sectors including: broadcasting, publishing, new media, advertising, marketing and PR. It’s broken down in a number of sectors including: television, newspaper & magazine, digital media, media business, advertising. Lastly the contenders in the list have their annual salary publicly displayed next to their profile and this figure comes from “The Sunday Times Rich List” as well as other sources.

There are 17 women in the Top 100 Guardian, meaning they only make up 17%, whilse the other 83% are males this maybe because they are a subordinated group and have been blocked out by the more dominate this is outlined because there’s not a single women in the top ten of the Top 100 Guardian suggesting that males are more inflectional and powerful in the media industry

 Veronica Lake
A famous American actress, who starred in a number of films during World War 2 playing a femme fatale character which was illustrated with her long blond hair and bright red lipstick emphasized in the film noir genre
The Glass Key (1942 film)
Veronica Lake plays Janet Henry who is represented as a sexy seductive woman who manages to lour in her Madvig's right hand man, Ed Beaumont. She’s portrayed as being sly and unfaithful as she goes behind her father’s back, as well as being very clever as she has a hidden agenda and a political motive. In this film clip low key lighting is used the producer may have wanted to highlight the great contrast between the ordinary people and the Femme Fatale, in addition non digetic sound is used to create suspense as to what the women may do next engaging the audience a bit more

Basic Instinct, 1992
A lot of low key lighting is used in this film to define the contrast between ordinary individuals and the Femme Fatal, in addition the genre film noir is known for its low key lighting as it makes everything look more dramatic, furthermore there are a lot of close up shots which focuses on the protagonist in the film which is definitely the women showing that she’s in control and demands respect for the other males in the film. The women in Basic Instinct is represented as a femme fatale as she poses a threat to the other males in the play this is shown by the camera angles used in the film she’s always noticed to be looking down at the males in the play and they seem to be looking up to her making her more superior and them more inferior

Lily Watts

Femme Fatale (2002 film)
in this film Lily watts plays a character called Rebecca who is a
jewel thief and takes up an identity of a dead woman’s identity in order to restart her life after double-crossing her partner. In this film she’s portrayed as seductive outlines in a striptease scene she’s a femme fatale as she uses her sexuality, to turn two men against each other. One beats the other into submission as she watches on in delight.
Slow music is played which is a Non Diegetic sound, as the female actor acts all seductive towards the male in this scene this sound is parallel as the audience expects it to play and accompanies this scene it also adds a sense of dramatic to the film as the audience doesn’t know what is going to happen next, high key lighting is used to make the individual look more rounded and stand out as the audience can see her every more which is made even more dramatic by the use of high key lights to create shadows connoting her dark side
